Banjo lessons are always custom tailored to the individual needs of the student. Everybody from beginner to Bela Fleck is welcome. Typical topics are technique, chords and simple banjo tunes in the style of the great late Earl Scruggs. Melodic style and more advanced techniques may also be covered if one is crazy enough to go that far. I’m open to all the genres from jazz to thrash, but bluegrass is obviously where the banjo traditionally happens.
I’ve been playing professionally since 1999 and teaching since 2004. I’ve been working as a professional banjo player since 2008. I graduated from Joensuu Conservatory in 2005 and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in 2012. For year and half I attended the world famous Berklee College of Music where I got to learn from masters such as Bela Fleck, Noam Pickelny, Tony Trischka and Pete Wernick.
